I have played over a thousand hours of MWO, and have some mech fits that are worth sharing.

Cicada CDA-3M

What is not to love! This Cicada is my favorate skirmisher. it has everything I could want, runs at 130kph, has ecm and a small frame. The key to this mech is you are faster them most other mechs in the game this alows you to survive engagements most mediums would not. You have good weapons for the 400m-700m range in one Binary and three ER-mediums. They reworked the chassis base stats a while ago and increased its acceleration, breaking, and turning by 20%.

Sunspider Manul SNS-ML

The quad Large Pulse Laser Sunspider is my favorate of the heavy mechs, It has the clan 81kph meaning you can be in most engagements. It's ecm makes you much stronger against missile fire and alows friends to be protected. I like the lasers in the arms more then the SNS-AMB, the AMB has better heat but trades the ecm as well. I feel like quad lpl has fallen off the meta in this patch in favor of vomit builds. People are not respecting the range, and sustain of lpl fits and you can really catch them out.
